Happy Days.

Saturday, January 27, 2007

Ommmm.

Yesterday Luca insisted I take 412 photos of him jumping on the lounge. Seeing as I'm focusing on getting tack sharp images at the moment, it was an offer too good to refuse. For some odd reason, he assumed the Ghandi pose as he lept into the air..every single time. Odd, my boy...hilarious and odd.

Funnier still was when we convinced Mason that Luca actually levitated off the lounge with nothing more than extreme concentration. He's driving himself insane trying to achieve the impossible :p

Happy Australia Day!

From all of us - five Aussies and a ring in. Although my beloved will claim to be one of us if we're winning a sporting event or we happen to be back in the UK. We had a great afternoon at the beach, just hanging out enjoying our glorious weather. We really do live in the best part of the World :)

Here's a couple of Ava I took out the back today in midday Sun..

The Rich Man's Holga..courtesy of Photoshop.

Because I can't say the Poor Man's Holga - it's a thirty buck camera :p

I'm having a monotone moment and taking it one step further, loving all things grainy, gritty and distorted. Until I get the time and energy to explore film a lot more, I'll have to make do with digital manipulation using various filters and actions....

As much as I love the effect, I still think it's cheating...real skill comes from spending the time BEFORE you press the shutter, not after you upload a file. There is so much to be said for those who limit their photo opportunity to 12 exposures...who see their image in totality before they even lift their camera.

I hope I never lose my passion for the craft that is film photography.

Aunties are fun.

Says Ivy. And my boys who STILL recount their visits to the house with the trampoline and the yummy lunches.

Aunty Angie is the funky mummy that somewhere down the track my kids will want to trade me for..

Singing In The Rain.

Well actually, rain from the outdoor shower. I proofed some photos today from the other week - I'd forgotten about them actually and now I have a new favourite! I was a bit excited I caught the exact moment the waterdrop hit his tongue! Click for a good look-see!

Brothers are wicked.

Poor Ivy. We were sailing along so nicely with her posing away and smiling sweetly until the boys decided to join us, kitted out in my long retired hair pieces. Ivy took one look and that was it, tears and squeals all round. Of course the boys thought it was a hoot - you can see Mason's gesture whilst he asked "Hey, what is the problem?" while she became more hysterical. So that was that. Session complete. (Of course I had to quickly snap before coming to her rescue) :p

On a side note, it always reminds me just how suburban my life has become when I see my children playing mosters with my hair pieces. "Back in the day" I loved those things, always made me feel glamorous. Now they're just a prop used to scare babies. Sigh.

A few more from yesterdays session. I just had to include the scrunched up nose one as it's the expression de jour - I would have had double the number of images if it wasn't for this look she's decided to sport right now! :p

Look at my big girl!

I can't believe she's not a wee babe anymore - both my girls are looking so much older these days. I got a lot of really nice images from this little session with her but am on the World's oldest computer at home, it's like TWO WHOLE YEARS OLD and I'm pretty sure I'd get better speed out of an abacus. So it's just the one for now.
